Email communication
All emails sent to post@burgerhouse.no and our other email addresses are stored in our email system. Correspondence is stored for as long as there is a purpose related to the customer relationship or inquiry. All email information is handled internally at Burgerhouse and is not shared with any third parties.
The purpose of collecting personal information
BURGERHOUSE collects personal information for the following purposes:
- Accepting payment at restaurant visits.
- Receiving and confirming table reservations.
- Issuing gift cards.
- Registering visits if required by law and regulations.
- Handling customer inquiries via email.
- Newsletter for subscribers.
- Processing job applications.

Which personal information is collected
When you pay by card at the restaurant or on the website when purchasing gift cards, card and payment information is collected in systems secured according to requirements from card issuers. BURGERHOUSE does not have access to the actual card details. This processing is done to fulfill a purchase agreement.
When you buy a gift card, we also collect your email address to fulfill the purchase agreement and send you the electronic gift card.
If you make a table reservation at one of our restaurants, we collect first and last name, mobile phone number, email, and optionally postal code and comments along with the selected restaurant and time. We do this based on our legitimate interest in being able to follow up on a reservation in operation and in communication with you.
If you contact us by email, we store the inquiry in accordance with our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and providing customer service.
If you make a complaint or send us a complaint, we need to record your contact information so that we can respond to your inquiry. The inquiry with contact information may be shared with the restaurant concerned so that the inquiry can be handled properly.
If you choose to receive newsletters from us, we ask for your email address. This requires your consent.

Regulations may require us to record your contact information when you are at our restaurants.
Which data processing activities do we perform
We make it possible for you to register the necessary information when you use services on our websites. We store the information and delete it when the purpose is no longer present. Note that the Bookkeeping Act requires a five-year storage period for purchase transactions. We use the information for communication with you, if you have consented to this, and we adapt the communication based on our legitimate interest in providing you with relevant communication. We can also use the information in anonymised statistics for analysis and operational improvement.
In connection with reservations, we may contact you based on our legitimate interest in follow-up.

When you use our pages on Facebook and Instagram, we share a joint processing responsibility with Meta. This means that both we and Meta are responsible for how certain information is processed, such as:

4. How we process messages and comments
- Direct messages: If you send us messages via Facebook Messenger or Instagram, these are stored in the chat functions on both your account and our account. This may include personal information you give us in the message.
- Comments and posts: We do not use information from your comments or posts for purposes other than responding to them or processing them in connection with competitions or promotions.
We recommend that you avoid sharing sensitive personal information via social media.
- Competitions
When participating in competitions on our social media, we process personal data such as name and contact information to select and contact winners. This information is only used in connection with the relevant competition and is deleted afterwards.
- Storage of personal data
- Messages via Messenger and Instagram are stored as long as they are relevant to the customer dialogue.
- Information collected in connection with competitions is deleted as soon as the competition has ended and the winner has been contacted.
- The user's rights
You have the right to:
- Get insight into which personal data we process about you.
- Request correction or deletion of information.
- Restrict processing or object to how the information is used.
- Complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority if you think we are not following the regulations.
